Who we are

BDM was established in June 2015 by a triumvirate of partners who hailed from a venerable law firm called Ince & Co.

Due to the background and experience of our founders, we began our journey with the knowledge and skills to advise clients in certain core areas – shipping, logistics, trade, energy, finance, insurance and construction.

We did not (and still don’t) have a grand plan for BDM. What we have is a set of core beliefs. Those beliefs include listening to clients, making sure we understand what they want, answering the questions put to us in the simplest and least number of words, turning work around quickly and thinking strategically to deliver the best outcomes.

We have ingrained our core beliefs into everything that we do. Many years have passed since we began our journey. We now advise dozens of blue-chip clients across the world in our core areas. We have handled thousands of cases. The sums involved have been as high as US$1 billion and as low as US$25K. We maintain the same approach to all cases. We don’t believe in second class.

We have a well-developed network of lawyers, experts and consultants around the world whom we know and trust. They help us to deliver seamless cross border advice on complex issues. We have built (and continue to build) a multilingual experienced team that reflects the international nature of our client base and who are imbued with our core values.
