Offshore energy is one of BDM’s areas of specialty. We work for offshore contractors, shipowners and other service providers, along with their insurers.
We advise on all the main forms of contract, including LOGIC, FIDIC and BIMCO, as well as assisting clients with more bespoke contractual arrangements and solutions. We work with clients on numerous forms of contracts for offshore vessels including Supplytime, Heavyliftcon, Heavyliftvoy, Towcon, Towhire and Bargehire.
We regularly advise both yards and buyers on offshore vessel newbuilding projects and second hand sale and purchase agreements, as well as handling a wide range of disputes arising in this area.
We also have experience advising on agreements for the shipment, handling and transportation of Liquified Natural Gas including Floating Storage and Regasification (FSRU) agreements, long and short term LNG contracts of affreightment, agreements relating to gas up cool down and heel up operations and LNG term sheets and master sales agreements.
Further areas we advise on include: contracts relating to offshore wind transportation, drilling/well services related services contracts, pre-bid agreements for offshore projects, framework agreements, exclusivity agreements, NDAs, JVs, cost sharing agreements, warehousing/storage agreements, novation agreements, parent company guarantees and bank guarantees.
