Managing Associate
Gareth joined BDM in 2020 after having previously worked at another specialist shipping law firm in London. He has also worked in-house with an IG P&I Club handling both P&I and FDD matters.
He specialises in advising shipowners, charterers, insurers and cargo interests on disputes arising under charterparties, bills of lading, letters of indemnity, the Inter Club Agreement and sale contracts. In addition, Gareth assists clients with disputes arising from theoffshore energy sectors.
Gareth has extensive experience of dealing with disputes both in arbitration and the English courts. He is also experienced in helping clients and insurers manage disputes in litigation in many foreign jurisdictions around the world.
Gareth also regularly assists clients with transactional matters including ship sale and purchases and newbuilding purchases.
