Joshua has experience in all aspects of dry shipping litigation and regularly advises on matters in the English High Court, the Court of Appeal, and international arbitration under a range of institutional rules. In addition, Joshua has experience in wet matters and has worked on a number of casualty matters such as ship collisions and fires, including the Grande America (the second largest casualty case in 2019). Joshua has also worked on energy and offshore matters, involving both conventional oil tankers and in specialised offshore support vessels. Reported cases include Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance PLC and others v Textainer Group Holdings Limited [2022] EWHC 1995 (Comm).
Joshua graduated from University of St. Andrews with a masters in Arabic & Economics, following which he worked in an Italian shipping law firm for over three years. He joined BDM in October 2019 after completing his studies in Law and qualified as a solicitor in 2021.
He speaks Italian in addition to Spanish and Arabic at a conversational level.
